Bintan Island is located just 45 kilometres south east of Singapore and is easily accessible via a 45-minute ride on a catamaran from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. This tropical paradise island makes a perfect recreational extension to a stay in Singapore, inviting you to relax the moment you arrive.
Bintan delights the visitor with ancient forests, mangroves and pristine white beaches bathed in azure waters. There are good opportunities for divers between April to October and numerous watersports, both motorised and non-motorised. Bintan’s marine population includes more than 100,000 species and there are also regular dolphin sightings.
Land activities include excellent golf courses, nature trails enjoying the lush tropical fauna and flora, a marina centre and retail facilities. In the south, a must see is a visit to Bintan’s capital, Tanjung Pinang, a quaint old town characterised by rows of wooden houses on stilts linked by a maze of walkways.
